Instant Messaging Guidelines
Last week in IT we were given a task to create a poster about instant messaging and how it can go wrong for the grade fours. We watched a video about how a girl got a new phone an messaged three of her friends. Each friend took the message differently. Two thought it was an angry message and the other one thought it was a perfectly normal message. This was a part of our digital citizenship. They just started using iPads this year so they were very eager to use messages. Apparently this didn't go so well. On the poster we had to include what tone and facial expression mean and how messaging can go wrong. Today the grade four Pheasants came to look at our posters. We had to explain what all of this means and why you should be careful when you message someone. I hope hey learnt a lot today and will be careful in the future about what they say on messages. The main message was also that it is better to call someone or speak to them directly.
