This year the grade 5s had to do energy for the Sciene Expo. I worked alone for the Science Expo  because it was easier for me. My mom went on Pinterest and we found a biomass lamp that I could do but we didn't because we couldn't find how to do it and what we needed to do it. Eventually my mom found a biogas experiment. I did a biogas experiment that tests which bottle of food scraps can produce the most gas. I chose biogas because it's different and no one else was doing it and it can help with our waste management. We started my experiment too late so the balloons didn't inflate as well as it should've. When we did the posters at school I didn't have my photos so I couldn't plan everything out but, the next day I got my photos and it looked perfectly fine. On the day of the Science Expo I felt nervous but confident. While I was speaking I forget to add something in so I had to stop take a breath and then I remembered.The judge, Mrs Pierce was very nice. A

I chose Climbing Table Mountain for my powerful verb keynote because everyone was doing what I was originally going to do so I just wanted to do something original. It took me a while to figure out what I was going to do. At first when Mrs Raubie told us we were going to do the powerful verb keynote I already knew what I was going to do, until I heard somebody was already going to do it. So I had to change my idea. I got the idea of Table Mountain because the first time I went up Table Mountain it was the most amazing experience ever. Although going up Table Mountain is scary, even if you are in the cable car.  

The rooster crowed loudly at five o' clock in the morning. I was tired, cold and wished I lived in a better environment. There was no light so it was hard to see. I took my clothes of the line they were still wet but it was better than nothing. I went to fetch a bucket of water so I could bath. There wasn't much water but I made the best of it. There was just a little bit of soap that I could use but I wanted to save some for my mom. I got dressed into my damp clothes and went to make breakfast. There wasn't much to eat so I just had two slices of dry bread and a glass of orange juice. The dry bread was a bit moldy but I was so hungry I ate it.  Before I left I needed to use the bathroom, so I went to use the community toilet. It smelt horrible because we had no water to flush it down. No one had cleaned out any of them so that was why. I  needed to use it badly so I just bared with the smell. On Wednesday the 9th the grade 5s left for High Africa to go on camp. When we arrived we got our cabin numbers and met the leaders. We got split into groups. I was in group 5. I wasn't to happy about who was in my group but I got two of my friends. We did Walk-cries, rafting, rock climbing, leap of faith, long walk to freedom and puzzle mazes. My group did the leap of faith first. In the leap of faith you have a harness around you and you must jump to grab the bar. Next we did rafting because the knots we tied came lose and the raft fell apart. During the night we did a night walk. I didn't like it to much because it was very dark and we weren't aloud to bring torches. It was even worse because the boys kept scaring people. The next day we did rock climbing but I didn't want to go. Next we did puzzle mazes but it was very hard. Lastly we did the long walk to freedom. In the long walk to freedom you have to help each other to get across a hard rope coarse. Every time you

A few weeks ago it was ILT. On the first day we got together with our partners to do the information. My partner was Jordan. We got along very well during the ILT. We chose the jerboa for our creature. We found a lot of information. The next day we did our poster. We had a lot of writing to do with a white pen. After all the writing was done we stuck it down on our poster. After all the pictures were done we did finishing touches. Jordan and I both had amazing ideas. When our posters were finished we made an imovie but we didn't get to finish. On the last day of ILT we had to do an unprepared oral. Jordan and I decided to be scientists. When it was our turn to do the oral we both got very nervous. When we were a few sentances into the oral we got more confident. At the end of the day I felt very tired. I learnt a lot during the ILT like facts about different soil creatures. I also loved Charlie and Thato's oral on the meerkat.
