Poetry ILT
Last week we had our poetry ILT. ILT stands for Integrated Learning Task. We are put into groups of three to four. Some of the work is individual and some of it is group work. We had to things like, write a poem relating to a theme, answer a few questions on a poem and a lot more. In my group was Mbali and Christian. We struggled a bit with time management but overall we worked well together. For task one we had to do poetry terminology which was easy. For task two we had to write a poem relating to a theme, this is my cinquain poem about summer,
Summer
Warm and Sunny
Running, Swimming,
Relaxing
Cool, Energetic, Happy
and Free
Enjoy
We could either do it in a group or alone. The blackout poetry was a bit challenging because one of our group members ran off to see their friends. The analyzing poems task was very quick because all you had to do was answer five questions. You had to choose one of the three poems that were given. My group chose to do, 'My Shadow' by Robert Louis Stevenson. I enjoyed task six the most because you had to create art that was inspired by the poem. It could either be 3D or just a drawing. There were no limits or restrictions which made even better. One of the tasks was a poetry slam. We had to create a poem in your group on the topic of your choice. The poetry slam was amazing! All the grade sixes were gathered in the hall and the had to present their poems. The last task was self - reflection where we answer question about our own experience about the ILT.
The Grade Sixes are looking forward to this years camp to Rocklands.
